Rabbit Bites and Message to Hank

Buzz has been asking for a new McVlog, so here you are. Not industry buzz, although we are getting some of that here and here. No, the Buzz that was needing a McVlog fix was my friend Buzz Belmondo the Filipino entertainer now teamed with Carl Bradley, a former network executive. Sounds strange and funny, and it is.

I hope you all enjoy this McVlog, especially one bright young redheaded man in New York City.

We are gearing up for a daily show here this fall, and I will tell you more about that later. The McVlog will continue as my personal video communication.

Thanks to Robert Scoble and Amanda Congdon for the shoutouts this week.

Reactions and Rabbits

The McVlog has received many comments and reactions, and I thought I'd take the time to address some of the feedback I've collected.

We shot this at Joey's Place, a really cool recording studio dating back to 1936 across from Paramount Studios in Hollywood. I hung out with maestro Joey Altruda.

The McVlog has captured the attention of two funny bunny vlog satirists at www.rabbitbites.com. I've never gotten that much attention from Bunnies in all my visits to the Playboy Mansion. Oh, and here is a link for one of my favorite recipes: rabbit on a stick.

I will be traveling to New York this week, and look forward to staying in touch.

Thanks to Steve Garfield for the clip, and anyone else who chimed in.

Happy Birthday Millie

It's Millie Garfield' s Birthday, and I would like to join the voices in a big shout out to her. Happy Birthday Millie, you are amazing, and I am happy to be your friend.

I always loved a song "Millie Make Some Chili" by Billy Vera and the Beaters. Billy is an old friend, and also an avid viewer of "The Bold and the Beautiful" for almost twenty years. I asked him to sing a little for you.

He is a legend in the music business, complete with a number one song "At this Moment" and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Thanks Billy!

I hope that you have a Happy Birthday Millie. I know I was very happy to wish you one.
love
Dan

Craig Newmark and the Craigslist Foundation

This McVlog has a special correspondent piece in San Francisco. Craig Newmark invited me to his home to discuss The Craigslist Foundation, a non profit organization. I later visited the office of Darian Heyman, its executive director.

Comedian Pat Mellon wrote a song especially for this piece: "Ode to Craigslist". Thanks, Pat.

The Craigslist Foundation is holding a BootCamp for non profits August 19th.

For a great example of a non profit that could use some help check out Ze Frank's PSBI.

Late Late Show , Ferguson, McVicar and Andy Garcia

Watch the video

I got interrupted while I was editing the "Blogher Part Two" report to go and do an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson".  This was my tenth appearance, and it airs tonight.

My old and dear friend Andy Garcia was also on the show , talking about his touching and wonderful film "The Lost City", now released on DVD.

I had shot some footage of Andy on Monday at an appearance of the Cineson All Stars....here's a few seconds.

The McVlog will return tomorrow with "Blogher Part Two" and some more interviews.

Interview with Arianna Huffington at Blogher

Part Two of my report from Blogher is on its way. In the meantime, I am posting the interview with Arianna Huffington.

I have always loved powerful and beautiful women. Arianna Huffington is both. Her Huffington Post has provided a place on the web for direct and always interesting political discourse. Soon to come will be "Politics Aside", a section of the site where anything and everything can be discussed.

In this interview she also discusses being fearless, her new book, and the war in Israel and Lebanon.

BlogHer Part One

I attended the BlogHer conference over last weekend, and was absolutely impressed. It seems that so much is bubbling up from so many, that communities are forming and taking hold.

The Blogher Bunch is an example of the power and the growth of blogging and vlogging.

I came to listen, to learn and not interfere. However, I did get to visit with many impressive bloggers, including Arianna Huffington, Lisa Stone and Jory Des Jardins of Blogher.

In part one, I deal with my fears in being a man in a woman's blogger world. There will be more in part two. I am also posting interviews today with Lisa Stone and Jory des Jardins. I will have complete interviews posted with Arianna Huffington, Zadi Diaz, the Mommybloggers, and many others.
